25 Teachers of NEU Rated as Outstanding Undergraduate Teachers at General Institutions of Higher Education in Liaoning Province

According to the Notice on Releasing the Results of the Selection of Outstanding Teachers at General Institutions of Higher Education in Liaoning Province in 2020 (LJF [2020] No. 41), and the Notice on Identifying the First Heads in Charge of the First Batch of the State-level First-Class Undergraduate Courses as Outstanding Undergraduate Teachers at General Institutions of Higher Education (LJF [2020] No. 45), 25 teachers of NEU are in the list. Among them, all the four teachers recommended by NEU in 2020 - Gao Kening, Sun Yanrui, Liu Chengjun and Li Yongqiang have been selected, and 21 first heads in charge of the first batch of state-level first-class undergraduate courses, including Chen Mingli, have been identified as outstanding undergraduate teachers of Liaoning Province.

Since the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, NEU has been exploring how to build high-level teaching teams with the construction of “golden faculty” as an effective means. In accordance with the requirements of the National Conference on Undergraduate Education in Colleges and Universities in the New Era on colleges teachers, NEU has implemented the project of “100 Undergraduate Teaching Models”, increased the posts of “backbone lecturer” and “chair professor”, selected excellent undergraduate teaching teams, and set up the “Outstanding Education Award”, “Excellent Education Award”, and “Lifelong Education Achievement Award” to forge outstanding teachers and advanced teaching individuals at all levels. An environment where all staff members devote themselves to their work and strive to make progress in teaching has been formed in NEU. At present, NEU has 4 state-level outstanding teachers, 61 provincial-level outstanding teachers, 3 outstanding teachers in the “Talent Cultivation Program for Revitalizing Liaoning”, and 30 university-level undergraduate teaching models. Relying on the construction of the “Golden Faculty” project, NEU has been comprehensively improving teachers' teaching and educating ability and exploring the practice of building “first-class undergraduate education with warmth”.
